Community Service/ Organization Involvement
During my time at UCF I always been an involved student. I am currently a marketing director and active member of International Medical Outreach. IMO is a student-run nonprofit that centers around medical altruism and sustainability in under privileged/underserved areas around the globe. As a collective, we have traveled to Peru, Ft. Lauderdale, New Orleans, and Columbia providing medical relief through volunteering with adults with developmental disabilities, handing out donations, and volunteering at schools throughout Lima, Peru. Haiti is our project country in which we run clinics that offer free healthcare to over 600 patients. We host health workshops to educate the Haitian community, such as cardiovascular health. In addition, I am the president and founder of First Generation Medicine which supports first-generation students declaring a medical major (nursing, physician, PA, PT, etc). First Generation Medicine strives to aid these students by promoting academic success, medical experiences, and career/professional development strategies.
Through these opportunities, I am able to volunteer within my community by participating in different organizations, such as United Against Poverty, Amway, and giving back through my travel experiences. I am able to give back to my community in different ways that allow me to become more well-rounded as an indivudal.
